I was so impressed with this little lady who has been rolling for so long that she is perfectly round and bouncy that I got on my knees to get a close up of her.
A perfect specimen!
I have lived in Harlem for 10 years and although we may have soul food, amazing architecture and some great gospel music, we have something no other neighborhood in Manhattan has- Tumble Weave. It can be found rolling down sidewalks, clogging up drains and skeeting down the subway stairs. No matter how bad your day is, when a tumble weave twirls by with some glitter, old leaves or an eyelash thrown in, it's simply un-be-weavably amusing.

Weave Mail from DC
From Chelsea, a hair stylists friend from DC who has spent many nights in the Harlem Castle:
Outside of Nationals Stadium in SE DC....Hot Hot Hot!
We had just left a baseball game and Lydia said, Mommy, a furry snake!
Lydia, honey, you have just created an iconic new word for the Urban Dictionary.
I will forever be indebted to you.

Our First International Weave Mail!
All the way from London town we got this whispering willow of a weave:
Spotted at the bottom of the escalator in Angel underground station. I risked life and limb getting this shot during rush hour( ok not quite but there were many grumpy London commuters were tutting and harrumphing as I got this shot).
Cheers Paula!!
Keep em coming!

Weave Mail from Columbia Heights DC
My college cohort and best boozing buddy, Beth found these gems snaking their way through the streets of our nations capital.
Flotsam and Jetsam? Very apropos for that neck of the woods.
Thanks Darlin'!

Tumble on Lockdown
I saw this poor lost soul while walking my dog yesterday.
What did she do that was so wrong?
Dare we say she was from the wrong side of the hair track?

Weave Mail from Harlem Neighbor
A friend just sent this too me. Must be because of the heat wave that this bouncy little number sprang from her tight lacing and twirled on down 125th Street. She has a great look going though. She will no doubt make a tranny rat or drag bird very happy.
Thanks Andrew!
