Hubby Joe McGynn spotted this little hairy number down in Union Square last night near Trader Joe's in front of Cafe Amore's Pizza....size of a VERY large hamster.
THANKS KIDDOS! (as Bill C. would say)
I have lived in Harlem for 10 years and although we may have soul food, amazing architecture and some great gospel music, we have something no other neighborhood in Manhattan has- Tumble Weave. It can be found rolling down sidewalks, clogging up drains and skeeting down the subway stairs. No matter how bad your day is, when a tumble weave twirls by with some glitter, old leaves or an eyelash thrown in, it's simply un-be-weavably amusing.

Weave Mail: Marisol Deluna
July 15, 2011
New York, NY USA
Dear Cator,
"Tumble Weaves" crossed my mind while viewing the Alexander McQueen show at the Met. (where seemingly all parts of the buffalo were used) So with open eyes after visiting you and Rod..., I spotted a few at Fredrick Douglass and 123rd Street. Good fortune prevailed with a camera in reach. Behold the beauty of my first encounter of synthetic extensions. Fantastic!
Great artistic shadow shot MPD!

Homeless Tumble Weave
This little Miss Thing has been busy collecting her recycling!
I found her outside the Tory Burch HQ on 19th street.

Wet Weave
I guess this is what happens to tumbles when they don't roll up under some shelter when a storm blows in.
Bless them!
Bless them!
Fergus Finds his Second Tumble
He is on a roll!
This one is quite unique. It's so beautifully tied on each end. Almost like those cherry stems my dad used to make knots out of with his tongue. Truly magical.

Fergus Found His First Tumble!
Yes after many walks through Harlem and countless chicken bones yanked from his teeth Fergus finally sniffed out his first tumble.
It was like a truffle pig snorting around. You can imagine my delight.
Well done my wee little lad!
