Happy spring everyone!
Here is a little critter that our gal Lisa spotted uptown.
If you find any tumbles in a spring time setting, send my way!
Thank you Lisa for always being on patrol.
I mean ... This snake was in my way on West 135th Street as I was walking back from my am swim at the Harlem Y.
In front of a hair salon, no less...
I have lived in Harlem for 10 years and although we may have soul food, amazing architecture and some great gospel music, we have something no other neighborhood in Manhattan has- Tumble Weave. It can be found rolling down sidewalks, clogging up drains and skeeting down the subway stairs. No matter how bad your day is, when a tumble weave twirls by with some glitter, old leaves or an eyelash thrown in, it's simply un-be-weavably amusing.

Fergus' Morning Tumble Trot
Several weeks ago before spring had sprung in Harlem, Fergus sniffed out this lovely little track on 121 Street and then we found another in true tumble ball form in this OK Coral on Frederick Douglas Boulevard.

This is just ignorant
In tough times like these, who is going to trash a whole bag of perfectly good weave like this?
Naturally it was near Port Authority where bad weave goes to die.
Shame shame shame!

Olivia Discovers Her Second Tumble Weave
Can you tell she is a Creative Director? Note the shadow in the picture!
This looks like a tightly rolled sausage curl or a dread to me...
As she told me:
