From my friend Tim in Brooklyn:
I found this weave outside the door of my apartment this morning. Someone is having a rough and not so glamourous Monday morning!
Thanks Tim! Clearly someone got up on the wrong side of the salon this morning.
I have lived in Harlem for 10 years and although we may have soul food, amazing architecture and some great gospel music, we have something no other neighborhood in Manhattan has- Tumble Weave. It can be found rolling down sidewalks, clogging up drains and skeeting down the subway stairs. No matter how bad your day is, when a tumble weave twirls by with some glitter, old leaves or an eyelash thrown in, it's simply un-be-weavably amusing.

Our first tumble from Nairobi!
From my friend Sharon who just landed in Kenya for a two year stint. Shay- Epic find after only one week!
At first glance you might ask yourself 'Hmmm... is that a snake in the tree?'
But, no!
All the way from Africa...
Your most far flung post yet.
Some people have their luck in finding parking places... me? Who knew.
ASANTE SHARON!

Red Hot Weave celebrating America
This firecracker of a tumble weave was sent to me over the weekend by a friend who spotted it the day after July 4th festivities in Midtown.
We sure would love to know the back story. Did the wearer get too hot and it melted off her head? Did she yank it out as a result of this heat wave? Maybe a sparkler got too near and her boo snatched it before it went up in flames?
Regardless, we hope it enjoys its freedom from the scalp and becomes
a tumble weave we can be proud of.
